On the queens birthday weekend, in June this year (2005), the Q.E.B.F. held their Major event Country v City Championships. There were 36 teams taking part in the event. Pool players came from as far away as Mackay and Rockhampton to the North and Toowoomba and Darling Downs to the west, along with Brisbane’s three associations, Ipswitch, Gympie and the Gold Coast. The Championships are run over three days and it has 180 players involved in the tournament.
