Sixteen player took arrived on time for the south easy zone’s first ladies ranker for the year. Twenty players was the mark we were striving for, lets see how we go with the next one. Good to see former state player, Tracey DOEBLIEN from Ipswich back in the field at the ladies ranker on the week-end. Looks like a good score was 20 pts + and all the state players punched around that make, BJ just a tad short on 19. Lauren and Nicole will be treveling to England again this year in June for the world 8 ball championships,
I guess we will have to wait and see who won the Central Queensland Open Singles:
Q-Masters hosted the south east zone open singles which attracted 36 runners. Best of 5 double -elimination draw. Barry Kitchener won straight sets in the winners side. Dane Beeton played up large coming through the elimination side. Barry continued his run by defeating Dane in the final.
The North Queensland Open Singles was played at the Barbinda Hotel over the 17/18th July weekend. Following the NQ format 16 players played in the Best of 5 round Robin event. Topping the ladder was 2009 State Player ‘Kris Jones on 11/15 closely followed by Dave Eaglan with 10/15. Third overall was Rob Munster on 9/15. Kris won the Final 6/4. Well done NQ Kris Jones Beat Dave Eaglen in final 6-4
The Top 24 Players will play a double round robin to determine there top 13 to travel to Townsville. Maybe SEQ will take a extra player and make it 14 as the winner of the state singles on Friday goes straight into the team. Hence leaving a vacant position in the top 24.
The first womens ranker for 2010! Seventeen girls played in the round robin format with Lauren winning the day with 30 points. Not far behind Kerri “Aust Team 2010″and Kirsty T on 24 pts. Sharron, Nicole and BJ just two away on 20 pts, but a long way from the 30 pts Lauren knocked in. HOOT HOOT!
