2009 Qld Open Team 400px Queensland Open Team 2009: 4th

What a gallant effort. The 2009 nationals showed that all states were getting more and more competitve, well maybe not NT. there were a lot of draws and very close finishes in a lot of matches.

It's time to step up and be weighed and measure. The three Aussie players Rusty, Adam, Brent and not too forget both Craig and Barry jnr for their superiror polished match perforances.

If they ever start to record Master-Outs, that is you break and they pot out. You would see a least 4 or 5 in every match the Queensland Boys played.

Adam List; 8 master breaks and 3 against (1 was by a 13 kid from Tassy), mate you are a true champion. A lot of players walked in cold after being benched, but they always gave 110%. Great Effort.

Special thanks to Justin Conner for doing the book when i was in hospital, thanks Champ.

Qld Open

QLD Open team:
My first Nationals got off to a great start with a 13-11 win over WA and i won 2/3. Overall we beat WA, NT and ACT twice and lost to Vic twice. However our finals fate lied with the results against SA, TAS and NSW. In our first match with SA we led 11-5 going into the last set. We couldn't finish them off and they fought back to snatch a 12-12 draw. Our second match with them was a disaster for us and they blew us away 19-5. I believe our tournament came down to the 2 matches with NSW and the first with TAS.

Mens Final Sa Small Open Team: SA 16+4 v VIC 16+0

This was a great match between 2 great teams. All mistakes were punished early and at half time it was 8-8. The Vics then pulled away to lead 16-13 in the final set and were just 1 frame away from consecutive titles. However the SA side fought back with some great pool. At 16-14 with Paull Clack taking on Mick Delahunty it looked like it would go to the final frame when Delahunty played some great positional pool after getting a couple balls off his break.
